Welcome to The Farm Homestay

Backed by the spectacular Rock and Pillar Range, this historic homestead has stood for over 130 years in this old settlement on the Strath Taieri plain.

The comfortable and tranquil homestead sits amidst mature oaks in the relaxed private ambience of the country and is only one hour from Dunedin. On the Otago Central Rail Trail, The Farm is a convenient and hospitable stop for exploring this picturesque area.

The Farm Homestay provides two guest rooms catering for up to four people. You will enjoy a cooked or continental breakfast. Spa available. Children are welcome and pets by arrangement.

Lynley and Glynne welcome you to their peaceful relaxed haven which includes a 200 acre farm, sheep, cattle, horses, one family cat and a Border Terrier dog. From high country farming background, our interests are horses, hunting and a tranquil lifestyle.

How to get here

From Dunedin Take Highway 87 from Outram to Middlemarch. Shortly before Middlemarch you will see the railway crossing signs in the distance. Turn left up Farm Road just before the crossing. Follow the gravel road for about 2km. The Farm Homestay is on your right opposite the only intersection on Farm Road.

From Central Otago Take Highway 85 to Ranfurly and continue until you reach the intersection with Highway 87 on your right. A large sign indicates the distance to Middlemarch. Travel through Hyde and Middlemarch, cross the railway and turn into Farm Rd on your right.
